Time

Don’t say “I need time”, to someone who dares to hold your hand.

Say: I couldn’t sleep, because I was excited to sleep near you that night.

Or leave…

Don’t say “I need time”, to someone who looks at you with admiration.

Don’t say “I need time” and let them hear: “to decide if I can find something better”

Say: Sometimes, when I walk on the street, I am thinking of all the questions I never asked you.

Or leave…

Don’t say “I need time”, to someone who cannot wait to fall in your embrace.

Don’t say “I need time” and let them hear: “to heal from all the others that I am still thinking of”.

Say: When I know I will meet you today, my heart beats three times faster.

Or leave…

Don’t say “I need time”, to someone who texts you “good night” before closing their eyes on the pillow.

Don’t say “I need time” and let them hear: “to measure and estimate if you fit in my image of happiness”.

Say: My only wish is to make you smile a little bit more today.

Or leave…

Don’t say “I need time”, to someone who finds peace laying on your chest.

Don’t say “I need time” and let them hear: “because I hope I will start feeling something for you in the future”.

Say: I cannot stop taking photos of you, to capture every moment life gave us to share.

Or leave…

Don’t say “I need time”

Don’t say: “I don’t know”

Don’t turn your back, playing the same game again, and again, and again.

Say: “this time it will be different, because I chose”

Or leave…

It is just a short wave, a moment…

Only a few moments in time and the movement is gone.

Some silence and bodies, holding each other in the path of their loneliness.

Don’t say: “I need time”. You don’t have it.
